Antiques Displayed Open House and Sale

Antiques Displayed in Danvers, MA will be going green this March. Their Saint Patrick's Day Open House will be held on March 17th (from 10AM - 4PM) with spirits, hors d'oeuvres and a 10% to 25% off sale.

New acquisitions of antique and vintage jewelry (a new addition to the shop as they previously did not carry jewelry) along with French and traditional furniture, lighting, mirrors, pottery, Ricardo del Rio sculptures, art, orientals and architectural elements fill this small but enchanting shop.

Store hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 10AM - 4PM and Saturday 9AM - 3PM.

Items will be used for guests who stay at Hope Lodge while undergoing cancer treatment at any of the Boston hospitals. The brand new facility opened a year ago (ahead of schedule) and provides a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers under the auspices of the American Cancer Society.

The Women's Community League of Weston Presents the 2009 Weston Holiday House Tour - Saturday, December 12, 2009

The Women's Community League of Weston has announced that tickets for its 2009 Holiday House Tour are now on sale. This year the tour on Saturday, December 12 invites guests to travel back and experience the comforts of tradition during the Early Republic Period, an era of hope and prosperity.
 
Five private historic homes dating from the early 19th century will be decorated for the holidays and open to the public. Historic town buildings, a complimentary food tasting, fireside music and more will be featured.
 
Only 300 tickets will be sold. The tour begins at the Josiah Smith Tavern on Boston Post Road, Weston, and runs from 9:30am to 3pm. Tickets cost $40. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.wclweston.org or call (781) 354-9010.
 
The Holiday House Tour is held every two years to raise funds for the League's Service and Scholarship fund. Last spring, the League awarded $34,500 in scholarships to graduating Weston High School seniors.

Enjoy an afternoon tour of three artisan studios in West Concord. Start at Hammersmith Studios where Carl Close will give a lecture and demonstration on traditional ironworking techniques. Participants will take home their own hand-forged iron coat hook. Next, learn about life size human forms modeled in clay at the West Concord Sculpture Studio. End the tour with a lecture and demonstration on custom millwork and cabinetry at the new workshop of JH Klein Wassink Woodworks. This will be a unique, up close opportunity to learn from three experts in the allied arts.

Light lunch at noon; wine and cheese at the conclusion of the tour.
