Presentation Title: Home Elevators: The Next Home Appliance
Presentation Summary: In this seminar we will discuss the value of a home elevator. They allow for improved livability - even as people age - while increasing the home's resale value. The demand for home elevators is growing at more than 15% per year. Learn about different drive systems and the pros and cons of each: Cable Drum, Hydraulic, and Machine Roomless (MRL). Learn about the safety features and National and Local codes that relate to home elevators. It is easier than you think: A home elevator uses only a quarter of the space of a staircase. The elevator shaft is easy to create by stacking closets. A home elevator can be custom designed with options like door placement, interior wood finishes, handrails, lighting, gates and control panels. If your clients aren't asking for home elevators yet, they soon will be. Be ready to answer their questions.

Presentation Title: New World Stoneworks - The Future of Building with Stone
Presentation Summary: This presentation will cover a revolutionary technology that makes it possible for architects to control every detail of natural stonework while completing the installation ten times faster than using traditional techniques. Recently named one of the most innovative green building systems by Architectural Record, the New World Stoneworks process delivers exceptional natural stonework shaped with water, hand chiseled and ready to install according to an architect approved design plan. The system qualifies for up to four LEED credits, eliminates all on-site waste and the occupational hazards of dusty cutting while ensuring the highest level of quality throughout all phases of a project. This system dramatically improves upon the pricing and timelines of building with natural stone to add a defining architectural element to custom projects.

Presentation Title: Planning for Residential Electronic Systems
Presentation Summary: As with other rough-in trades (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) electronic systems should be planned well in advance of construction and documented at the construction drawing phase of design. Participants in this course will discuss the roles, responsibilities and functions of an electronic systems contractor (ESC), be able to identify different types of residential systems and analyze the benefits of working with an ESC. Attendees will examine specific design considerations, such as space, framing, electrical and ventilation requirements. This course will help attendees indentify the proper ESC for the job providing them a checklist of questions to ask and items to consider when engaging a home electronics partner early in their next design and build project.
