2nd Annual Topsfield Antiques Market: May 23-24, 2009

This Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd - 24th at the Topsfield Fairgrounds off of Route 1 (exit 50 from I-95), the 2nd Annual Topsfield Antiques Market will be held from 9-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.

150 dealers will be gathered indoors and under tents, selling and displaying their unique antique treasures. The Topsfield Antiques Market has been described as "a fun show in a country setting with a city flair."

Third Annual Seascape Show at Renjeau Galleries May 9 - May 30

Renjeau Gallery's third annual Seascape Exhibition will be held from May 9 through May 30th in the Exhibition Studio adjacent to their Natick Gallery. The show will feature approximately 30 of the newest works of ten different artists, including four new artists that have never before been featured at Renjeau Gallery.

There will be a wonderful variety of styles and techniques on display, ensuring that there will be something to suit everyone's tastes.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 9th from 3 to 6 PM. Several of the artists will be in attendance, so it will be a good opportunity to meet them and enjoy some beautiful new art.

Spectacular kitchens in a number of distinctive Hingham residences will be on exhibit during the Roomscapes Luxury Design Center’s (RLDC) Hingham Luxury Kitchen Tour, Saturday, May 9, 2009. All proceeds from the tour will support South Shore Art Center’s exhibitions and education programs.

The tour begins at 9:30 a.m. when ticketholders will register and tour the spectacular new RLDC showroom in Rockland. Artwork, provided by South Shore Art Center Gallery Artists has been incorporated into the design center and will be on display. Cameron Snyder, CKD, will present a slideshow with photos of the “2009 National Design Kitchen Contest Winners & Design Trends,” at 10:15. The kitchen tour will be take place from 11 AM to 1 PM.

South Shore Art Center is a non-profit visual arts center, located in Cohasset, with gallery exhibitions and art education programs for adults and children. In 2007, SSAC was recognized with the Massachusetts Alliance for Art Education Champions Award for Outstanding Cultural Institution.

But now that the dust has settled after the show, I'm working on making my program available to you as a slide show that you can view in your own home under more user-friendly conditions even if you do not have PowerPoint on your computer.

Duxbury House Tour on May 5th: Discover the Seaside Charm of Duxbury

The Duxbury Newcomers' Club is hosting its annual Spring House Tour on Tuesday May 5th from 10am - 2pm.

A tradition for more than 20 years, several Duxbury homes representing different periods and styles are featured on this self-guided tour. Proceeds are donated to charities designated by the homeowners.
